Two Worlds Collide

Outline:
·      Two characters,
o   Erickson Martin: He is in his late 20’s he’s was on this flight because there had been a small opening and he took the last ticket. It had only been chance that he got that ticket. He was on his way home to see his mother. He had been gone for about three years out of state and way coming home to visit.  He was tall, slender with freckles and wore glasses yet preferred contacts. He had brown hair and it was always messy as if he had gotten outta the shower and never brushed it.
o   Muhammad Atta’s: Scruffy looking face, tanned Muslim skin color.

·      The story will begin with both of them, preparing for the fight that morning/ Or why they were flying that morning.
·      They will bump into each other a few times throughout the story.
o   Airport baggage, going to take their seats, bathroom, and terrorist part
·      It will come down to the last few minutes of chaos on the plane.
·      Crash.

Don't look down.

Well, I believe these last few days are going slower than ever, I leave Friday and I feel like time isn’t even moving. I have enough homework to last me a lifetime so maybe it’s a good thing that times moving slow. I have four exams, worksheets, a rough draft, work and laundry to get done before I leave. This is like a never ending tunnel; well at least on the other end is sixty degree weather, another state and tons of fun to be had. I cannot wait to leave Friday; however I do find it ironic that im writing my paper about the hijacking of September 11th, 2001 and I’m riding the plan for the first time Friday. I've always found movies funny when they get stuck next to that one person during a flight, I hope its not me. Wish me luck, this should be entertaining, seems how im terrified of heights.

Rebel without a cause.

Murphy, Tom. Reclaiming The Sky. New York: AMACOM, 2007. Print.

Reclaiming the sky is mainly about the story of the day before September 11, 2001 and the two days following the event. It describes the scene of all the planes, and the confusion among the workers in charge of the airport. It does a great job following the story of terrorists on and off the plane, the great detail that they had known to plan this whole thing.  This is a great primary source to use for my research paper due to the fact it has a lot of when, where the planes took off and the times.  It has a lot of people who were there when things had happen.

Valentine’s Day, or is it a Hallmark day?

Valentine’s Day is a day that all the single people freak out and get all sad that they don’t have anyone to share it with. Then they do nothing but bash the fact that “Valentine’s Day is a stupid holiday.” Since when did this holiday have to become so depressing? Who cares if your single, today everyone is so concerned with being in a relationship with someone that we make being single on Valentine’s Day a horrible thing. We put so much focus on finding love from other people. Since when did we get so obsessed with fat chubby baby with an arrow shooting people, getting flowers and candy? My view on Valentine’s Day is that it should be a day that you take that time to remind the ones you love that they mean a lot to you, family, and friends and maybe if you have a special someone. It’s not about having a Valentine, it’s about reminding people that you care about them and love them, in general not just ones you’re dating. Just because you may not have anyone to share it with doesn’t mean you should celebrate it.

One step forward. Two steps backward.

My historical event is September 11, to be surprised I thought I had known a decent amount when it came to this event. Like I know it happened in New York City. It ended up taking down the twin towers, and it killed a lot of people when it happened. It also has affected our citizens and daily life to this day, loss of ones, airplane security. I still need to find out a lot about this event, like the whys it happened behind it. The exact times of each plane hitting. Small facts like the way the weather was outside, what jobs are inside those buildings. I need to know how many people were on the flights, what the flights looked like. Where the planes were flying from or where the final destination was. I will need to research the terrorists on the planes, know what they looked like, their names how they got on the plane. My keywords for looking up research will be September 11th, twin towers, plane hijacking, terrorists, airport security before September 11th, and World Trade Center.
I’m writing a man that was boarding the plane that flew into the twin towers. He is in his late 20’s he’s was on this flight because there had been a small opening and he took the last ticket. His mother had called him five times in the last two days telling him how excited she was that he was coming to visit and what she planned on cooking.

Moving forward in reverse.

What makes you smile? Like the kind of smile where you having the worst day, just failed an exam, tripped up the stairs and spilled ketchup on your lap at lunch. For me, I love when you see that 85 year old couple holding hands. When you’re walking into a building and someone stands there waiting for you holding the door open. Going to dinner and the cafĂ© is serving something good! When you’re walking to class and that cute song pops up on Pandora. Finding, old money in your pocket, when you go to do your laundry. When that cute boy offers to teach you pool. Getting, the last set of sour gummy worms out of the vending machine. Getting I miss you mail from friends and home. When your fat hamster sits on her wheel and eats. What makes you smile?

They say it's not as bad as they say it is.

Coming to college some of us get home sick, some of us miss our pets, family, and friends that we left behind. Eventually most of us just learn to cope with being away from home, others visit home frequently. I have only gone home three times since college started all together. There are a few things I miss like having my little annoying brother around all the time, good cooked meals, being able to have my car to drive and a big one is being around kids, like I have been all my life. I worked at a daycare, I also volunteered for three years at a kindergarten class two times a week after school. Those kids were so cute, and I loved watching them progress over the year. I can still remember most of the kids through the three years. My favorite part of the year was field day, I always got permission to skip classes and help out at the elementary school. The kids would do simple fun tasks like tug a war, hoola hooping, dancing, soccer and every sports rated game possible. At the end of the long day the kids would lay in the grass exhausted with popsicle stained shirts. That is one thing I took for granted that I defiantly miss.  Those kids always made you leave with a smile on your face, no matter if you had the worst day at school or failed a test. Guess I could use that while at college when I fail and exam
